Fishing Guide
Everything you need to know about fishing in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin
Fishing is a relaxing activity in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin that lets you catch fish at bodies of water throughout the open world. Fish can be used as cooking ingredients or consumed directly for HP recovery and status effects.
How to Unlock Fishing
Requirement: Progress Through Act 1
Fishing unlocks during Act 1 when Tioreh joins your party. After completing her introductory quest, you'll gain access to fishing at any valid water body in the game.
How to Catch Fish
Find a Fishing Spot
Approach a body of water (sea, lake, river) and look for the "Fish" interaction prompt. Not every shoreline works — look for areas where fish are visually swimming. A green light indicates a fish-rich area.
Choose Your Bait
Different baits attract different fish. Check the Fishing Spot Info to see which fish are available and their preferred bait. You can fish without bait to practice the mechanics first.
Cast Your Line
Cast near where you see fish swimming. Wait for a fish to bite — your controller/screen will vibrate when one is hooked.
Set the Hook & Reel In
When a fish bites, quickly hit "Set the Hook". Then keep the bar within the yellow gauge by pressing the Pull button. The bar drops automatically — tap Pull to raise it. Fill the capture gauge to land the fish.
Bait Guide
| Bait | Target Fish | How to Get |
|---|---|---|
| No Bait | Common fish | Free — always available |
| Basic Bait | Common & Uncommon fish | Craft from insects, purchase from merchants |
| Quality Bait | Uncommon & Rare fish | Craft from rare insects, merchant shops |
| Premium Bait | Rare & Epic fish | Achievement rewards, special events |
Fishing Tips
Practice without bait first — get comfortable with the hook-setting and reeling mechanics before using valuable bait.
Check Fishing Spot Info — each spot shows available fish, preferred bait, and the status effects fish provide when eaten.
Look for green light — a green glow when approaching water indicates a fish-rich area with better catches.
Use fish for cooking — fish are great cooking ingredients for dishes with defensive buffs.
Don't miss the hook — if you fail to set the hook in time, you lose your bait. React quickly when the fish bites.
